When your spouse asks you that question do you freeze up? Will you fess up to the growing girth around your sweetheart’s hips? One of the first lessons a husband learns is that being truthful isn’t always rewarded! Being right is no help either. Your wife isn’t seeking your opinion but confirmation of her opinion!

â??No! What fool have you been listening to? You know I don’t know hardly any thing about female clothing styles and culture. â? After looking from hair to shoes at your spouse say, â??Fat is not what I see! I trust your judgment and taste. If I had my way you wouldn’t have on any clothes. â?

Is the ploy working on your wife, probably not? The question to the wife is similar to asking a non-GED graduate if she or he should get a GED. Both want to be told what they want to hear. It’s not their fault. What person without a high school diploma wouldn’t want a GED? Someone who doesn’t want to have to work to get one! Someone the world owes a living to.

If you can’t tell yourself the truth; then you have embarked on a journey down the slippery slope of deceit or failure. A journey requiring no effort on your part. Just to accept excuses, avoid reality, shirk responsibilities, and to hide away from prying eyes. So do you believe that not having a high school diploma or GED is the way to go? Are you afraid to try, to learn? What does that still voice in the back of your head say?

You’ve got to change! Or you’ll keep on getting what’s happening now. Change can be frightening but change is the order of the day on this planet. Nothing ever stays the same forever. Take some GED classes and try to stay with it. Your life isn’t written in stone unless you can’t change! Others in worse or better shape than you have done it. Education is supposed to improve your life or how you think about yourself.

You can get a GED through studying online, in a classroom, at home with a self study book, or private tutoring. How you study and if you study are up to you. There’s no way you can’t get help, free or fee, to reach your GED goal.

,

Once upon a time there was the dark ages where few commoners could read or write. Later an industrial age came about with public education offered. Now the current age is about information.

How to obtain it? What to do with it? How to own and manipulate it? The GED gives you the basics to exist in that age and grow with it.

If you don’t have an idea of where you are trying to get to. Anywhere will do nicely. Others will be happy to choose your goal for you but not to your benefit. You are going to go through this life once. Why not reach for the gold ring or do what you dream of? The last time I checked there was no tag attached to me saying failure. I assume the same applies to you?

Change is risky. It’s new and can be fun. Change is the rhythm of life. People come and they go, live and die. Your choice is not so dire! You just want a better more abundant life. Go for it!

You’re sitting there, wondering which route is the best for you to take: the GED route, which boasts that they can get you a GED within a few days, or the online high school route, which boasts that you will get an actual high school diploma and not a GED. Which do you pick? Well, let’s take a look at both of these options carefully.

First of all, the GED course that promises a real GED within days. Sure does sound great, doesn’t it? But, have you truly looked into the program that they are offering? What kind of subjects will you be learning before you get your GED? What kind of classes do they offer – online, self-study, classrooms? What are their fees for these GED classes? Will you have to pay to get your GED once you’ve earned it? How do you get your study materials and books? Are they part of the price or do you have to buy them separately? Are they an accredited school or training facility? What kind of program do they really offer that can get you a real GED within just days? And, can you really learn two to three years of education in a few days to pass your GED exam? Once you really stop and think about these programs that promise your GED within days, you will see that they are truly making some unrealistic promises that they can’t possibly keep. More than likely, they are not an accredited school and cannot truly get your GED for you within a matter of a few days or even weeks. So, why waste your hard earned time and money on something that just won’t work for you and won’t be as good as a high school diploma anyway.

Your second option: online high schools, such as Citizen’s High School. Online high schools can offer a tremendous advantage over a program that will only offer you a GED. While a GED is a great thing to have, an actual high school diploma is always better. So, when you are considering an online high school, like Citizen’s High School, what do you look for? You look for a time-tested program with proven results that will help you to achieve your goal – a high school diploma with your name on it! You can check with the Department of Education for their accreditations and how long they have been an accredited school, you can check with the school about the different courses that they offer for high school students, including vocational classes, and you can check with the school about the different ways to receive your materials and attend classes. Citizen’s High School offers a year-round school, so you can enroll at any time and begin classes immediately, not just in the fall or at the end of semesters. This means that you can start at any time you want, and still earn your high school diploma without having to go back and take other classes. And, best of all, you can earn a real high school diploma, not an equivalent like a GED, from the comforts of your own home!

So, when you are considering which option is best for you, look into both programs, and then go with the tried and tested Citizen’s High School to earn your high school diploma that you can truly be proud of!

Strangers to the GED often think that I’m thick skinned. They can’t seem to get a rise out of me with their jokes about the skills of drop outs and GED graduates. I don’t have much to say to people who think that education is a joke. Or believe education exists in today’s public schools. There are some inner-city schools where survival is more important than education. Where even teachers who want to return home have learned to leave the students alone!

To many students, a teacher is that adult in the front of the classroom who gives out meaningless busy work. The teacher is probably thinking when do I get to teach and see the light bulbs come on. So why are both dysfunctional? I think it’s because they aren’t sharing the same space. Sure they’re all in the same classroom but not in the same social space. Between gangs, parents, and the social life of the neighborhood kids aren’t ready to get with school if they can avoid it. Those at the bottom of the pecking order are trying not to be noticed by those at the top.

Teachers are distracted by millions of surveys, meetings, discipline and trying not to get knifed or shot by the little darlings in their classrooms. Not only are teachers expected to teach but they’re:

Add to the mix school administrator’s who may never have been in the classroom or can’t teach in the classroom. A school board that will never see inside a classroom or a struggling student. They typically wouldn’t recognize a teaching environment not described in the NEA handout for school boards. Stir this to a lumpy consistency of what the h. . l is this supposed to do?

Businesses and colleges get the end product which is focused on itself. The “Me” generation around whom the universe revolves. My life is too important to be interrupted by education. “What do you mean I have to keep my mouth shut? Why do I have to know that?”

So the magic solution is?

If parents want their students to be taught more; then provide the resources. Allow teachers to go out in public and solicit the resources they need. Let them have some TV time to show what’s going or is a problem.

I want schools to have access for their students by the Internet and virtual teaching classrooms staffed by interns and teachers. Online education is a practical reality for more students every day. Schools must deal with it and use it. Yes, this means that PC’s will have to be available for students . Either privately or publicly owned.

Let’s raise our expectations for our students above the level of “Beavis and Butthead. ” That we live in a republic not a democracy! As citizens we reserve the right to change our cities and leaders as we see fit. Not as a czar sees fit. We may not always get what we want or even what we deserve but we should be able to try and better ourselves. Justice is not in the courtroom but in the hands of responsible citizens.

NO Judge, lawyer, policeman, or politician is responsible for my rights. I should not have so many that I can’t keep track of them! By George we are expected to be able to read, write, find a job and just maybe think.
